Job Title: SEND TEACHING ASSISTANT - MAKATON
Location: E20 Daily Pay Rate: £83.40 Benefits: Access to up-to-date CPD training We are looking for a compassionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in the E20 area. This role involves providing dedicated support to a student with Down’s Syndrome, helping them thrive academically and socially in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Proficiency in Makaton is essential to facilitate effective communication and support. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support for a student with Down’s Syndrome, focusing on their individual needs and development. Use Makaton to support communication and enhance learning opportunities. Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans. Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere to encourage student engagement and progress. Monitor the student's progress and provide feedback to the teaching team and parents/carers. Requirements: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar SEND support role. Proficiency in Makaton is essential. A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with students with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. What We Offer: A daily rate of £83.40.
