Location: Wandsworth, SW15 Salary: £89 per day (PAYE) Contract Type: Full-time, 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM About the Role: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? Axcis is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support students in a vibrant Sixth Form setting at a specialist school in Wandsworth. In this rewarding role, you will work with students aged 16-18, supporting their academic and personal development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The school boasts beautiful, sensory-friendly spaces, including gardens, which promote a calming atmosphere conducive to learning and development. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND, focusing on academic, social, and personal development. • Assist with personal care tasks as required, including manual handling and peg feeding. • Support students in managing challenging behaviour and ensure a safe and structured environment. • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create tailored learning plans for individual students. • Ensure students' physical, emotional, and social wellbeing is prioritized throughout the day. Skills and Experience Required: • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS • Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly those with Autism. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young adults in their academic journey. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
