About the Role:
The school in Uxbridge is seeking a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students with additional learning needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and communication disorders. If you have experience in healthcare or care and are passionate about supporting students' development, this could be a rewarding opportunity for you!
As a Teaching Assistant, you will assist students in both their academic and personal growth, ensuring their needs are met in a safe, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND in the classroom and care settings.
• Assist with personal care tasks, including manual handling and peg feeding.
• Support students with challenging behaviours and help maintain a positive, structured environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support students' learning and wellbeing.
• Assist with any required medical care, including epilepsy care (training provided).
• Ensure students’ physical, emotional, and social needs are met throughout the school day.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students' development and wellbeing.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.
