Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Job Vacancy: ARP Teaching Assistant – Southall (Near Southall Station) Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a committed and experienced teaching assistant to join a mainstream primary school's autism resource provision (ARP) near Southall Station. This full-time role is set to begin in April, offering a rewarding opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs. In this role, you will work primarily with Reception to KS1 pupils, many of whom are non-verbal and present with ASD, speech and language needs, and may display challenging behaviours, including occasional violent outbursts. You will be instrumental in delivering support in line with pupils' EHCPs. Key Responsibilities: -Provide 1:1 and small group support to non-verbal children with SEND -Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours -Work collaboratively within the ARP to deliver personalised interventions in line with EHCP targets -Use onsite resource to engage children in learning Requirements: -Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a classroom or SEND provision or school -Confident in managing behavioural challenges with patience, empathy, and a proactive mindset -An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential Role Details: Location: Southall (close to Southall Train Station) Start Date: End of May Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM) Setting: Mainstream Primary School – Autism Provision Unit If would like to work in a primary who always receives consistently good ofsted reports and you're passionate about making a difference and have the relevant experience, we’d love to hear from you.
