Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Year 3 Pupil
Location: Primary School, N12, North London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm (subject to school timings)
We are seeking a compassionate, attentive and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a bright and engaging girl entering Year 3 who has physical disabilities.
About the Role:
You will work closely with school staff and external professionals to support this pupil’s access to education while ensuring her safety and wellbeing. She has no behavioural difficulties and is intellectually capable, but requires full support with mobility, including:
Manual handling and hoisting
Assistance with transfers between equipment and environments
Monitoring her safety throughout the school day
Support with personal care and movement during break/lunch
This is a long-term, full-time position, ideal for someone with a caring nature, patience, and a genuine interest in SEND education.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with physical disabilities (preferred but not essential)
Confidence using or learning to use hoisting and moving & handling equipment
Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and discretion
A calm, nurturing approach and excellent communication skills
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
