SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication Needs – Primary – Barking & Dagenham From £89/day | Primary | Barking & Dagenham | Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Axcis are working with a Good Ofsted-rated mainstream primary school in Barking & Dagenham who are seeking a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with autism and speech & language needs. The school has a nurturing ethos, strong leadership, and is easily accessible via the District Line. In this role, you will be: • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with autism and communication difficulties. • Using visual timetables, PECS and structured routines to promote engagement. • Assisting the class teacher with adapting lessons for individual learning needs. • Encouraging independence and positive interaction during lessons and play. What we’re looking for: • Experience with autism or communication-based SEND. • A caring, patient and proactive approach. • Familiarity with PECS, Makaton or similar communication tools is desirable. • A passion for inclusion and supporting children to achieve their best.
