Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School Location: OL1 Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm Contract: Agency, term time only Pay: From £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience) Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND teaching assistant to work in a primary school supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning in a supportive, nurturing environment. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities: • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs) • Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation, communication, and independence • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals Essential Requirements: • Experience working with children with SEND (professional or personal) • Punctual, reliable, and committed to the role • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach • Strong communication and teamwork skills • An enhanced child and adult DBS registered on the Update Service Axcis Education is a specialist recruitment company for SEND, established in July 2001, and is now recognised as the foremost supplier of quality SEND teaching and support staff in the UK.
