Location: Wandsworth, London
Hours: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Any 3 days in the week
Salary: £90-£95 a day
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive team in the dynamic borough of Wandsworth, London. The role involves contributing to the development and education of children with a range of special educational needs within a mainstream classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to children with a range of SEND, ensuring each child can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
• Work in partnership with classroom teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
• Facilitate the use of appropriate resources, techniques, and strategies to support children with SEND.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as required.
• Foster a nurturing and safe learning environment that promotes respect and positive behaviour.
• Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the organization of learning activities and outings.
• Help manage the needs of students both inside and outside of the classroom, including the provision of personal care where necessary.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a SEND support role within an educational setting.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, patience, and empathetic understanding of the needs of children with SEND.
• A collaborative work ethic and the ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
• An up-to-date enhanced DBS check.
