About the School
Axcis Education is working with a caring and community-driven primary school in Muswell Hill (N10). The school is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant who can support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and challenges around emotional regulation.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a dedicated team who are passionate about helping their pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and inclusion team to support pupils who may find classroom environments overwhelming. Your work may involve:
Providing focused 1:1 support for children with ASD or SEMH needs
Running or assisting in small-group interventions
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and behaviour linked to dysregulation
Implementing structured routines and visual aids
Helping build confidence, resilience, and positive learning habits
Using calm, consistent approaches to reduce anxiety and promote engagement
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Previous experience working with ASD, SEMH, or dysregulated learners
A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach
Confidence working with emotional or behavioural needs in a positive way
Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Willingness to adapt strategies to meet individual needs
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Axcis)
