Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Reading Pay: £89 per day Contract: Full-Time (Term Time Only) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Reading, working full-time with children who have complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEND professional who is confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties, autism, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. Personal care is an essential part of this role. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans Support students with communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs Deliver personal care respectfully and with dignity (toileting, feeding, hygiene support) Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEND team Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment Essential Requirements Proven experience working within SEND settings (school or specialist provision) Experience supporting children with complex needs Confidence providing personal care A calm, patient, and resilient approach Strong teamwork and communication skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) What We Offer Daily rate of £89 per day Full-time, consistent work (term time only) Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in children’s lives Supportive school environment and ongoing professional development If you are passionate about supporting children with complex needs and are ready to make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
