Pay: £92 – £97 per day

Axcis Education is recruiting for a caring and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Beaminster, Dorset. This full-time role is available from September and is ideal for a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant looking to support children with additional needs within a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop confidence and engage positively with classroom activities.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children, understands the importance of consistency and patience, and is passionate about helping every child achieve their potential.
About the Role
• Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant role starting September
• Supporting pupils with SEN within a mainstream primary classroom
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to help children access the curriculum
• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), communication needs, learning difficulties and SEMH needs
• Helping children develop confidence, independence and engagement in learning
• Supporting classroom routines, transitions and positive behaviour strategies
• Working alongside teachers and the wider school team to provide effective support
• Creating a safe, encouraging and inclusive learning environment
The school is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent support, build positive relationships and help pupils feel confident and ready to learn.
The successful candidate will have:
• Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs in a primary school setting
• An understanding of how to support pupils with additional learning needs, communication difficulties and emotional or behavioural needs
• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
• Confidence supporting children on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
