Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Maidenhead from 7th September. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The school caters for pupils who are predominantly non-verbal and have a range of complex learning and communication needs. As part of the role, you will work closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality support, helping pupils to engage with learning, develop independence and reach their individual potential in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
You will need to be confident in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and able to use positive strategies to de-escalate situations calmly and effectively. Personal care forms an essential part of this role, so applicants must be comfortable providing this support while maintaining each pupil's dignity and wellbeing.
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly those with ASD, is highly desirable. Applications are welcomed from candidates with a caring, resilient and proactive approach, and qualified Applied Behaviour Analysts, or those with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) experience, are especially encouraged to apply.
The rate of pay is £92.63 per day and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with complex needs within a supportive specialist setting.
