SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary – Tower Hamlets £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Tower Hamlets Axcis Education is recruiting a caring, proactive and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Tower Hamlets, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning and developmental needs. The role will involve a mixture of 1:1 support, small-group interventions and classroom-based assistance, helping pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and additional learning needs access the curriculum and become more confident in school. The school is looking for someone who can build relationships quickly, work closely with teaching staff and adapt their support around the individual child rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. About the Role - Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 - Working with children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and SEMH - Providing 1:1 and small-group support - Helping pupils access phonics, literacy, numeracy and wider classroom learning - Supporting focus, communication and emotional regulation - Following individual EHCP targets and support plans - Using visual resources and structured routines where appropriate - Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team - Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: - Have previous experience as a SEND TA, LSA or similar support professional - Have supported pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language or SEMH - Are confident working 1:1 and with small groups - Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries - Are calm, patient and comfortable using initiative - Understand the importance of supporting pupils without over-supporting them - Hold a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification – desirable but not essential - Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based within a primary school in Tower Hamlets, with excellent transport links across East London.
