Start Date: January 2025 – July 2025
Contract – Temporary, with potential to go permanent
Pay - £83 PAYE, DOE
Axcis are working with Special Educational Needs School, who are looking for an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2025. The school are look for somebody who has previous experience of working with ASD, preferably in a Special Needs setting.
The school based in Wednesbury in the West Midlands, is a recently open school, catering for pupils with Autism/ASD. With capacity of up to 126 pupils, the school is home to start of the art facilities, including, a sensory room, integration room and dedicated Music and Food Technology rooms.
You will be working with a small group of pupils, ranging from the ages of Reception to Year 6, working with pupils with severe ASD, therefore experience with ASD is essential. Some of your daily duties will include but not be limited too;
• Working with Pupils with ASD, supporting and engaging them in learning.
• Managing behaviour.
• Working alongside class teachers to ensure best outcomes for all pupils.
• Ensuring that all pupils are safe by creating an inclusive learning environment
To be successful for this role you will
• Have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent
• Have experience of working within a classroom – ESSENTIAL
• Be friendly and be able to work in a team
• Be able to manage challenging behaviour
• Have a DBS that is on the Update Service or be able to pay £56.71 for a new check to be done
