A special needs all-through school is looking for experienced Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. The school supports students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (both verbal and non-verbal), Global Developmental Delay, and more complex learning disabilities.
You will be working 1:1 with students aged 5-16, supporting them at a learning level between Reception and Year 2. The role involves assisting with communication strategies, including Makaton and PECS, helping students develop independence and confidence. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement individualized learning plans in a structured and nurturing environment.
Candidates should have previous experience working with SEN students and an understanding of ASD, Global Delay, and complex learning needs. Makaton and PECS knowledge would be beneficial. A patient, caring, and proactive approach is essential.
