Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Epilepsy
Teaching Assistant (Seizure Support) | From £89/day | Tower Hamlets | ASAP Start | Full Time | Long Term Supply Axcis are looking to appoint a confident and caring teaching assistant to join a fantastic school in Tower Hamlets, supporting a student with a known seizure disorder. The school caters to pupils with a range of additional needs and has received positive feedback from our placed staff, particularly for its supportive and well-organised environment. Located near excellent transport links and with parking available, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who can provide calm and capable support during medical episodes. In this role, you will be providing consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with epilepsy or a similar seizure condition, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and access to learning throughout the day. You will be responsible for monitoring for any early signs of seizures, responding in line with the child’s medical care plan, and working closely with the class teacher, school nurse and SENCO to ensure clear and proactive communication with the wider team and parents. When the pupil is settled, you may be asked to provide general support within the classroom, helping to maintain a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment. What we are looking for: • Experience supporting a child or young person with epilepsy, seizures or similar health needs in a school, care or medical setting. • Confidence in responding calmly and appropriately during medical incidents — ideally with knowledge of seizure types and first aid procedures (training can be provided). • A patient, observant and reassuring approach, with strong communication skills and a team-player attitude. • Availability for full-time, long-term work and a genuine interest in supporting young people with medical and additional learning needs.
