Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Further Education
Experienced Teaching Assistant – Special Needs Further Education College
Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact? We are seeking a committed professional to join our supportive team at a specialist further education college for young people with additional needs.
Role Details:
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Special Needs Further Education College
About the Role:
You will support students aged 16-25, all of whom have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and have been referred by their local authority. Our learners have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and/or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and require tailored support to develop their independent learning, social, and life skills.
Working closely with tutors and support staff, you will help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages participation in both academic and vocational activities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH and/or ASD
- Previous work in a college or further education setting (preferred)
- A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach to learning and behaviour management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
