Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Primary
Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Enfield, EN1
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:45pm
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Enfield (EN1), supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex needs, and non-verbal communication needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs
-Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised and sensory-based learning activities
-Support pupils with communication using visual aids, PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices
-Assist with personal care, mobility, and feeding where required
Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-Experience working with children with special educational needs (school or care setting desirable)
-A calm, patient, and resilient approach
-Confidence supporting non-verbal pupils
-A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
-A willingness to undertake relevant training
