Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Secondary Location: Taunton Pay Rate: £89 per day Job Type: Full-time – Term Time Only (Temporary or Long-term) Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday) A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Taunton is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s passionate about helping young people succeed – academically, emotionally, and socially. Whether you’re experienced in education or looking to transition from a care or youth support background, your support can make a real difference. About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who may have special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, or behavioural challenges. You’ll provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping students stay engaged in lessons and build confidence in a nurturing environment. You'll collaborate with teachers and the school’s SENCO to adapt learning strategies, monitor progress, and encourage independence, all while promoting a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
