Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Preston, Lancashire Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term --- **Job Description:** As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the classroom, supporting both the teacher and students. You will be involved in creating a supportive and inclusive educational environment, assisting with lesson planning, and contributing to the children’s academic and social development. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist the lead teacher in the preparation of lesson materials and classroom set-up. - Provide support to individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers. - Observe and record student performance, providing feedback to the lead teacher. - Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment. - Help manage student behavior in the classroom by enforcing rules and procedures established by the school. - Organise and supervise activities such as field trips, school functions, and extracurricular activities. - Provide assistance with students' personal care needs as required. - Participate in meetings and professional development sessions as directed by the school administrators. - Perform administrative duties such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and maintaining student records. - Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the instructional environment and to adhere to curriculum standards. **Qualifications:** - NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent qualification is highly desirable. - Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role. - A strong understanding of classroom management and student engagement strategies. - Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. - A patient and resilient demeanor with the ability to adapt to different learning needs and personalities. - Excellent organisational skills and a team player mindset. - A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn new skills. - Enhanced DBS check clearance or willingness to undergo DBS checks. **Why You Should Apply:** - Opportunity to work in a stimulating and supportive educational setting. - Be part of a dedicated team that is passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. - Competitive salary and benefits. - Access to ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities.
