About the Role:
Axcis Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a well-respected primary school in Romford, Havering. This school, highly regarded within the local community, recently received a ‘Good’ rating from OFSTED and prides itself on its inclusive and supportive environment.
In this role, you will work closely with Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, particularly those with SEND needs, social challenges, or behavioural difficulties. Your main focus will be providing both 1:1 and small group support, with a strong emphasis on phonics-based learning to aid literacy development.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide 1:1 and group support to students, particularly those with additional mental health needs and behavioural challenges.
- Implement phonics-based strategies to support reading and writing development.
- Assist children in developing social skills and help them manage emotions in a school environment.
- Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and SENCO to adapt lesson plans to meet individual needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to tailor support strategies.
- Assist with general classroom duties, including resource preparation and lesson support.
- Take part in intervention sessions to aid pupil development.
