Job Title: Teaching Assistant
**Job Title:** Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support (Part-Time) **Location:** Salford, Greater Manchester **Contract:** Part-Time (4 days per week) **About the Role:** We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school situated in Salford. The successful candidate will work part-time, four days a week, and play a crucial role in providing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support to our students. You will be part of a team committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can succeed and feel valued. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver tailored SEMH support to individual students and small groups, under the direction of the SENCO and classroom teachers. - Promote positive behavior and social skills, acting as a role model and mentor to students facing challenges. - Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) focused on SEMH needs. - Use a variety of strategies to engage and support students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring their access to the curriculum. - Monitor and report on students' progress, keeping accurate records of interventions and outcomes. - Work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external agencies to best support students' SEMH needs. - Manage classroom resources and create an organized learning environment conducive to growth and development. - Contribute to the school's overall ethos, mission, and values. **Qualifications and Skills:** - NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is preferred. - Prior experience in a similar role or working with children with SEMH needs is essential. - Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to child welfare. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. - Patience, empathy, and resilience, with the ability to stay calm under pressure. - Creative thinking and flexibility to adapt to various educational settings and student needs. - Proficiency in English and Mathematics at a GCSE level or equivalent. **Benefits:** - Competitive salary. - Supportive and collaborative work environment. - Comprehensive professional development opportunities. - Contributory pension scheme. **How to Apply:** If you are motivated by the prospect of making a significant impact on the educational experiences of young people, and you possess the necessary qualifications and skills, we would love to hear from you.
