A warm and inclusive Catholic mainstream primary school in Wandsworth is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class from September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position (Monday to Friday), initially offered for one academic year.
About the Role:
You will play a key role in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) within the Year 3 classroom. Under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO, you will assist with curriculum access, especially in literacy and numeracy, while promoting a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
-Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
-Supporting access to the curriculum, adapting materials and tasks when needed
-Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and social development
-Helping to maintain a calm, respectful classroom environment rooted in Catholic values
-Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
-Has experience (or a genuine interest) in working with children with ASD and MLD
-Is calm, patient, and committed to supporting pupils' academic and emotional development
-Works well as part of a team and is responsive to guidance
-Is supportive of the Catholic ethos and values of the school
-Holds a relevant TA qualification or has previous classroom experience (desirable)
