Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – Primary PRU (SEMH Focus) Pay: £90–£100 per day (dependent on experience) Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm | Monday to Friday | Term-time only We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Primary PRU supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. This Teaching Assistant role is based within a therapeutic PRU setting that works with highly vulnerable primary-aged pupils who are unable to attend mainstream school due to SEMH needs or permanent exclusion. The provision supports pupils for short- or medium-term placements, with a strong focus on stability, wellbeing, and successful reintegration into education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to meet pupils’ SEMH, emotional, and academic needs. The PRU provides a structured, nurturing, and secure learning environment where children are supported to rebuild confidence, develop emotional regulation, and re-engage with learning.
