Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:45am – 3:45pm

About the Role
Axcis Education is working in partnership with an Outstanding SEND Primary School in Greenford, Ealing, to recruit experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants for full-time roles starting ASAP, with long-term opportunities continuing from September 2026 for at least the full academic year. The school will be trialling suitable candidates during mid June and early July.

Classrooms are small, with up to 10 children per class, and pupils have mixed abilities. Staff work closely together to provide engaging, structured, and personalised learning opportunities that support both academic and social development.
The ideal candidate must be hands-on, proactive, and confident supporting children with a range of SEND needs. Candidates must also be comfortable supporting with personal care and using communication methods such as PECS and Makaton to help pupils access learning and interact positively within the classroom.
The school provides excellent training, guidance, and ongoing support, making it a great environment for candidates who are eager to learn, develop their skills, and pick up new strategies quickly.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and complex SEND needs
-Support pupils within classrooms of up to 10 children with mixed abilities
Use PECS, Makaton, and other communication strategies to support learning and engagement
-Support pupils with personal care where required
-Help create a structured, engaging, and positive learning environment
-Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
-Manage and support challenging behaviour positively and consistently
-Work closely with teachers, therapists, and senior staff to support pupil progress
-Record, monitor, and report on pupil development and engagement
-Contribute positively to the school’s strong team culture and inclusive ethos
Requirements
-Previous experience supporting children with Autism and a wide range of SEND needs
-Strong understanding of complex needs and behaviour support strategies
-Experience using PECS and familiarity with Makaton
-Comfortable providing personal care support
-Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable approach
-Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
-Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
-Ability to learn quickly and respond well to training and feedback
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
