Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Minimum Full Academic Year)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:45am – 3:45pm

About the Role
Axcis Education is working in partnership with an Outstanding SEND Primary School in Greenford, Ealing, to recruit experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants for full-time positions commencing in September 2026.
The school is keen to identify suitable candidates as soon as possible and will be holding trials throughout the current term. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to start before the summer break, allowing for a smooth transition into a permanent September placement.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and confident supporting children with a range of SEND needs. You should be comfortable supporting with personal care and have experience using communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to help pupils access learning and engage positively within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism and complex SEND needs
Support pupils within small classes of up to 10 children with mixed abilities
Use PECS, Makaton, and other communication strategies to support learning and engagement
Support pupils with personal care where required
Help create a structured, engaging, and positive learning environment
Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Manage and support challenging behaviour positively and consistently
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and senior leaders to support pupil progress
Record, monitor, and report on pupil development and engagement
Contribute positively to the school's inclusive culture and collaborative team ethos
Requirements
Previous experience supporting children with Autism and a wide range of SEND needs
Strong understanding of complex needs and behaviour support strategies
Experience using PECS and familiarity with Makaton
Comfortable providing personal care support
Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
Ability to learn quickly and respond positively to training and feedback
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Full-time availability from September 2026, with availability to attend trials and potentially start during the current term
