1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Additional Resource Provision – Primary – Barking & Dagenham £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Barking & Dagenham Axcis Education is recruiting a patient and experienced 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Barking & Dagenham, supporting a pupil within an additional resource provision. This is a long-term role for someone who is confident providing consistent 1:1 support to a child with Autism and additional learning needs, helping them access learning, manage routines and become more independent throughout the school day. The provision offers a more structured and supportive environment within the wider mainstream school, making this a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with pupils who benefit from a smaller, more individualised setting. About the Role Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND Working within an additional resource provision in a mainstream primary school Supporting Autism, communication needs and emotional regulation Helping the pupil access classroom learning and targeted activities Supporting transitions, routines and engagement Using visual resources and structured strategies where appropriate Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team Encouraging independence and confidence over time Supporting the pupil both within the provision and in the wider school environment About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: Have previous experience as a SEND TA, LSA or 1:1 support worker Have supported children with Autism or additional learning needs Are confident working within a structured SEND setting Can remain calm and consistent when a pupil becomes unsettled Understand how to support without creating dependency Are patient, reliable and able to use initiative Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based in Barking & Dagenham, within a mainstream primary school that provides additional support for pupils with SEND.
