SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary – Chigwell £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Chigwell Axcis Education is recruiting a caring and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in Chigwell, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs across the school. The role will involve a mixture of 1:1 support, small-group work and classroom-based assistance, helping pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and emotional regulation needs access learning and become more confident and independent. The school is looking for someone who can build relationships quickly, remain calm and consistent, and adapt their support around the individual child rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. About the Role - Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 - Working with children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and additional learning difficulties - Providing 1:1 and small-group support - Helping pupils access phonics, literacy, numeracy and classroom activities - Supporting focus, communication and emotional regulation - Following individual EHCP targets and support plans - Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team - Encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: - Have previous experience as a SEND TA, LSA or similar support professional - Have experience supporting children with Autism or other additional needs - Are confident working 1:1 and in small groups - Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries - Are calm, patient and able to use initiative - Hold a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification – desirable but not essential - Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based in Chigwell, with good transport links from surrounding areas including Woodford, Loughton, Ilford, Barkingside and wider East London/Essex.
