Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – Class-Based Role Location: Local Primary/Secondary School Start Date: ASAP Hours: Full or Part Time Pay: £95–£100 per day, depending on experience Axcis Education is currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school on a full or part-time basis, with an ASAP start. This is a class-based position where you will work alongside teaching staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and personally. This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident working within a classroom environment and understands how to adapt their approach to meet different SEND needs. You will need to be patient, approachable and proactive, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent support throughout the school day. The role will involve: • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties • Working closely with the class teacher to support learning and classroom activities • Providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support where required • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour • Adapting your approach to suit individual learning and behavioural needs • Providing emotional, social and academic support • Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment We are looking for someone who: • Has previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant within a school setting • Is confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a classroom environment • Has a calm, patient and supportive approach • Is a driver with access to their own vehicle (essential) • Has strong communication and teamwork skills • Is reliable, flexible and able to adapt to different situations • Can start immediately or at short notice You will be joining a welcoming school where support staff are valued and play an important part in helping pupils achieve their potential.
