Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role?
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Truro, supporting secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional and complex learning needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and helping them develop both academically and personally.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils get the most from their education. Your day-to-day role will include:
• Supporting pupils with their learning and development
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support where needed
• Helping pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and individual needs
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Working as part of a supportive and experienced team
About You
We are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and resilient, with a genuine desire to make a difference to young people's lives.
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential, ideally within a school or specialist setting. Experience supporting pupils with complex learning needs would be particularly beneficial.
You don't need to have all the answers — we're looking for someone who is willing to learn, gets to know each pupil as an individual and is committed to helping them succeed.
Why Apply?
• Full-time, consistent Monday–Friday hours
• Opportunity to work in a specialist SEND setting
• Supportive and experienced staff team
• Rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference
• Opportunity to develop your SEND experience and skills
• Excellent opportunity for those looking to build a career in specialist education
Location: Truro
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm
£94–£98 per day
If you're looking for a role where no two days are quite the same and you can genuinely see the difference you make, we'd love to hear from you.
