Job Title: College Learning Support Worker
I am delighted to be working in close partnership with a large college based in Gloucester supporting them in their recruitment of learning support workers for September and the next full academic year 2026-2027.
This well renowned college with different sites across Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cinderford and Newent are looking for full-time learning support workers to start from Monday 7th September and continue until June / July 2027.
The hours will be between 30-35 hours per week usually Monday to Friday 09.00-16.00 / 08.30 - 16.30 or similar and the pay will be between £14.25 and £16.00 per hour ( dependant on previous experience) paid weekly, a week in arrears.
There are numerous subjects the colleges are looking for support workers to support their students in and these range from Animal management, sport and mechanics to agriculture and music as examples and the support will entail a mixture of theory and practical based support, both on a 1-1 and small group basis.
The students requiring support are those with mild learning difficulties, Social, Emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), Autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties. All the students have each asked for support and know the benefits of having 1-1 / more focused support and so will be engaging with the extra support given.
The college and I are looking for people with the following attributes:
*Passionate about education particularly Further Education
*A hobby / interest such as sports, music, animals
*An adaptable and approachable attitude
*Prior experience either personally or professionally with SEND - special educational needs and disabilities.
*Reliable, hardworking and committed
