About the Role
Axcis Education is expanding its dedicated and confident pool of Cover Supervisors to deliver engaging and effective cover lessons in Secondary Schools across Salford and Greater Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain hands-on classroom experience ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced Teaching Assistants, or individuals with prior experience in education who are looking for flexible school-based work.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting the school curriculum by delivering pre-planned lessons, leading small group interventions, and providing high-quality classroom supervision.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering engaging lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
Leading or supporting small group interventions focused on core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
Ensuring a safe and calm learning environment that promotes focus and respect.
Identifying and helping to remove barriers to learning.
Applying reasonable adjustments to support SEND learners and those with additional needs.
Using de-escalation techniques and consistently applying the school’s reward and behaviour policies.
Encouraging positive peer interactions and helping pupils develop strong social communication skills.
Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and structured routines to support student wellbeing.

We’re Looking for Candidates Who:
Have 2+ years of experience working in secondary schools or similar educational settings.
Are confident delivering full lessons and managing classrooms independently.
Demonstrate a calm, patient, and compassionate approach with young people.
Can build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
Have a degree or relevant teaching assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
This role would suit graduates, unqualified teachers, cover supervisors, HLTAs, or experienced teaching assistants seeking career development in education.
