--- **Job Title:** Full Time Teaching Assistant **Location:** Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 **Contract Type:** Full-Time, Long-Term **Start Date:** ASAP --- **About the Role:** We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community located in Chorley, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to make a significant impact on the lives of students by providing exceptional behavioural support. This full-time, long-term position calls for an individual who can work collaboratively with teaching staff to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Work closely with classroom teachers to implement individual behaviour plans. - Provide in-class support to students with a range of behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. - Employ strategies to promote positive behaviour and effective classroom management. - Act as a role model, demonstrating patience, understanding, and respect for students at all times. - Assist with the development and delivery of personalised learning activities suited to individual needs. - Monitor and record student progress, adapting support techniques as necessary. - Encourage student engagement, motivation, and participation within the classroom. - Facilitate small group and one-on-one sessions aimed at addressing specific behavioural goals. - Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to update on student progress and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings as required. - Participate in training and staff development opportunities related to behaviour management and special educational needs. **Qualifications:** - NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. - Proven experience in a similar role supporting children with behavioural challenges. - Solid understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviour in an educational setting. - Good literacy and numeracy skills. - First Aid qualification is desirable. **Skills and Attributes:** - Resilient and confident in managing challenging behaviour. - High degree of flexibility and adaptability. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students. - Empathetic and sensitive to the varying needs of each child. - Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. - Committed to ongoing professional development and learning. **What We Offer:** - An opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. - A supportive and friendly working environment. - A commitment to professional development. - The chance to work within a collaborative team.
