Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) Location: N12, North London Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications Contract: Permanent | Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Interview Dates: Interviews being held immediately – early applications encouraged Join Our Dedicated and Inclusive Primary School We are seeking an experienced, passionate and highly motivated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our welcoming primary school in N12. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to lead and develop our SEND provision, ensuring that every child receives the support and opportunities they need to thrive. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting inclusion, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, and working collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for all learners. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the school's SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice. Identify and assess pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Develop, implement and review effective support plans and interventions. Monitor pupil progress and evaluate the impact of SEND provision. Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents/carers and external professionals. Provide guidance, training and support to staff to promote inclusive practice. Maintain accurate SEND records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Contribute strategically to whole-school improvement and inclusion initiatives. The Successful Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete it within the required timeframe. Proven experience supporting children with SEND within a primary school setting. Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation. Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills. A commitment to inclusion and raising achievement for all pupils.
