Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
A well-established specialist provision in Exeter is looking to appoint a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, anxiety, MLD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students access both their education and emotional development. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs
• Creating a safe, calm, and supportive environment using trauma-informed practices
• Supporting pupils to develop confidence, regulate emotions, and improve social skills
• Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to deliver effective support strategies
• Assisting with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual development targets
• Monitoring progress and sharing feedback with the wider team
• Implementing positive behaviour strategies to support students through challenges
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
• An understanding of how SEND can impact learning and behaviour
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• A positive attitude and willingness to adapt in a dynamic environment
What’s on Offer:
• Central Exeter location, easily accessible by public transport or on foot
• Full-time role, Monday to Friday
• £106 - £110 per day
• Working hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm (30-minute break)
