Job Title: Student Support Assistant – Long-Term Agency Role (Birmingham)
A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Student Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis through an education agency.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them to thrive in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs
• Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning atmosphere
• Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
• Work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team
• Encourage student independence and engagement in learning
Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for supporting student development
• Ability to commit to a long-term placement via an agency
