£180–£260 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start
Axcis are working with a highly regarded special school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a compassionate and creative SEND Teacher to join their team from September.
The school supports autistic children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of communication, learning, sensory and emotional needs. It delivers an individualised curriculum designed to promote pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
This role would suit a qualified teacher who can plan engaging, highly differentiated lessons and lead a classroom team effectively.
About the SEND Teacher Role
Your responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons
• Teaching autistic pupils with a range of learning and communication needs
• Adapting teaching around pupils’ individual starting points
• Working towards EHCP outcomes and personalised learning targets
• Using visual communication and structured teaching approaches
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and sensory needs
• Creating a calm and predictable classroom environment
• Monitoring and recording individual pupil progress
• Leading and directing teaching assistants
• Working with families, therapists and multidisciplinary professionals
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding
What We’re Looking For
• Qualified Teacher Status
• Previous teaching experience within a SEND setting
• Strong understanding of autism and communication needs
• Ability to plan highly differentiated and accessible lessons
• Experience using visual and structured teaching approaches
• Confident classroom and team leadership
• A patient, creative and adaptable teaching style
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning
• Strong communication and safeguarding awareness
• Full-time availability from September
• Commitment to a long-term role
