Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Primary
A welcoming mainstream primary school in Camden is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children or vulnerable adults with special needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping Key Stage 1 and 2 students access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include providing one-on-one and small group support, assisting with classroom activities, and working closely with teachers to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Your expertise will be essential in helping students with additional needs thrive both academically and socially.
Details:
Location: Camden
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am - 3:45 pm
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with ASD and ADHD in their learning and development.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of engaging, tailored learning activities.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or vulnerable adults with special needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting student learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
