Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Contract Type: Full-Time Salary: £95 per Day Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience in managing challenging behaviors to join a SEMH school in Salisbury, Wiltshire. You will be providing essential support to a student in Year 7 with ASC (Autism). This role requires a talented individual who is committed to improving educational outcomes and creating a positive learning environment for students with special educational needs. Key Responsibilities: - Provide 1:1 support to a student with autism, adapting your approach according to their individual needs and education plan. - Utilise effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in and out of the classroom setting. - Support the student in developing social skills, independence and self-regulation techniques. - Collaborate with teachers, special educational needs coordinators and the student's family to ensure a cohesive approach to their education and wellbeing. - Assist in the preparation of learning materials tailored to the student's abilities and interests. - Monitor the student's progress, keep detailed records and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders. - Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment at all times. - Attend meetings and training sessions as required to further your understanding of autism and behaviour management strategies. - Encourage the student to engage with the curriculum, participate in classroom activities and foster a love for learning.
