The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join the school's Specialist Resource Provision (SRP), supporting a small Key Stage 2 class of up to 10 pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs. Working alongside the class teacher and wider SEND team, you will provide consistent, tailored support that enables pupils to engage with learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a safe and structured setting. The pupils you will support have a range of needs, including: Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Behavioural needs Some pupils may experience emotional dysregulation, including verbal outbursts or the use of inappropriate language. The successful candidate will be calm, resilient, and confident in using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to support pupils effectively. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for KS2 pupils with SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs. Implement positive behaviour management and effective de-escalation techniques. Promote engagement through structured routines, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving individual learning targets. Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCo, therapists, and wider SEND team. Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment. Encourage pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development. Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress, engagement, and wellbeing. About You The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience supporting KS2 pupils with ASD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills. A calm, proactive, patient, and resilient approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Team Teach training (desirable). An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. Full-time availability from September 2026. Availability to attend trial days as soon as possible. Why Join This School?
