Youth Support Worker
I am working with a fantastic college in Stroud who are looking for support workers to assist some FE (further education) students. These roles are to start in September and are likely to continue to the end of the academic year for the successful candidates. The college is extremely welcoming, the fellow staff and senior leadership and very supportive and the learners who you will be supporting are looking forward to their support and building a strong professional relationship with their support workers.
The main attributes that the college is looking for in support workers are individuals with the following:
- a caring, nurturing, empathetic, understanding and conscientious nature.
- someone who will show commitment and consistency in their support for the learners - due to the learners needs they need to know that the same person will be there with them on a long term basis, fully invested in the role.
- a desire to want to make a real difference to students.
- someone who is able to adapt to different situations and think outside the box.
- is open minded and willing to learn new subjects / skills.
The hours for this role would be Monday - Friday 09.30- 16.30 on a long term basis ( a year minimum) and you would receive all the benefits of being a full time member of staff such as access to training days, admin time, learner walks, observations and should you be taken on permanently at the end of the year then you would receive a permanent contract with guaranteed hours.
Due to the needs of the learners and needing to ensure everything is in place in plenty of time, the college are keen to secure support for September asap so if you are interested, then please email me with your up to date CV as soon as you can and we can move forward with hopefully matching you with the right learner and getting everything set up for you in September before the summer holidays.
