Youth Worker – Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant Location: Enfield, EN3 Full-time | Secondary School Are you a Youth Worker with experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour? Are you looking to take your experience into a school environment? We are working with a secondary school in Enfield (EN3) who are looking for a confident and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs. This role would suit a Youth Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Support Worker or similar professional who is confident working with young people who may display challenging behaviour. The Role Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs Build positive, trusting relationships with young people Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour Use effective strategies to de-escalate challenging situations Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning Work alongside teachers and the pastoral team Provide consistent boundaries and support students to make positive choices We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with young people or challenging behaviour Is confident managing difficult situations calmly and professionally Has strong communication and relationship-building skills Is patient, resilient and consistent Can establish clear boundaries while remaining supportive and approachable Is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education Youth Work, mentoring, care, sports coaching, residential or community experience would all be considered.
