Job Title: Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant team at a SEND Secondary school in West Bromwich (B70). The ideal candidate will be dynamic, compassionate, and committed to providing tailored support to pupils with diverse learning needs. The school hold great values and believe that every young person should have the opportunity to succeed by being motivated and inspired. As a Secondary Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students, helping them to achieve their full potential. The Role includes: • Work collaboratively with the class teachers to understand the educational needs and learning objectives for individual students with various learning difficulties or disabilities • Offer in-class support to students, assisting them with understanding instructions, completing tasks, and staying engaged with the curriculum • Provide one-to-one or small group tuition outside the classroom as required, facilitating a better understanding of the subject matter • Foster a supportive and motivational learning environment that encourages student independence and self-confidence. What We’re Looking For: • A confident, proactive, and patient approach to supporting young learners with Special Educational Needs and Challenging behaviour • Ability to create engaging learning strategies and interventions • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Patience, understanding, and the ability to build rapport with students • Working Monday-Friday 8.30am-3.30pm • Pay: Starting from £83.40 per day (PAYE) dependent on experience and relevant qualifications This is the perfect role for anyone with SEND experience—whether personal or professional—who is passionate about making a difference in young lives.
