Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - PRU Location: White City Start Date: February 2025 Duration: Ongoing Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday Are you passionate about supporting young people with complex needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit in Ladbroke Grove. This is an excellent opportunity to provide one-to-one and group support to 13-17-year-old pupils, helping them achieve both academic and emotional development in a dynamic, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing challenging behaviours, support students with ASD and possess a firm yet empathetic approach. You must be available full-time, Monday to Friday, and bring a patient, understanding nature to the role. Key Responsibilities: -Provide tailored one-to-one and group support to assigned students. -Encourage both academic progress and emotional development. -Use effective de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe learning environment. -Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualised care plans. -Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavioural incidents. Axcis Are Looking For: -Experience working with students with SEMH needs or at-risk youth. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -A calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to behaviour management. -Proven ability to manage challenging situations professionally and patiently. -Relevant training or certifications (e.g., safeguarding or behaviour management) are highly desirable. Requirements: -Enhanced DBS on the update service. -Previous UK experience supporting children in an educational setting. -Experience working with ASD, SEMH. -Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM). -Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
