Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a diligent and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic all-ages special school in Slough. This full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 3:30) requires someone flexible, proactive and confident supporting children and young people with a wide range of needs, including ASD, PMLD, complex learning difficulties, communication challenges and behaviours that may be challenging.
As part of the team, you will be working across different age groups and abilities, providing essential support to help students engage with their learning and develop key life skills. Personal care is an integral part of the role, and you should be comfortable assisting with this as needed. A nurturing and solutions-focused mindset is key, as well as the ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to different situations throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For:
• Experience supporting individuals with SEND (personal, professional or voluntary)
• Confidence in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
• A proactive and empathetic approach, with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to work flexibly across the school, adapting to different needs and environments
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people reach their potential
