Full-Time Cover Supervisor – Middle School in Taunton Location: Taunton, Somerset Hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Daily Rate: £100 – £120 Contract Type: Full-time, long-term with potential for permanent employment Axcis is excited to partner with a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Taunton that is seeking a full-time Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone confident in managing classrooms and passionate about supporting students across a variety of subjects. What You’ll Be Doing: In this role, you will step in for absent teachers, delivering pre-set lesson content and keeping students engaged in their learning. You won’t need to plan lessons, but your ability to lead a classroom and keep learners on track is essential. Your day-to-day will involve: • Overseeing a range of lessons across Key Stages 2 and 3. • Keeping pupils focused and maintaining a respectful, productive classroom environment. • Enforcing the school’s behaviour expectations and logging any incidents as required. • Supervising students during non-lesson times such as breaks and lunches. • Reporting on attendance, student engagement, and any pastoral concerns to the appropriate staff. • Upholding safeguarding responsibilities and referring any concerns to the school’s DSL. What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone who: • Has experience working with young people (schools, youth work, tutoring, coaching, etc.) • Is confident leading a group and delivering lesson content in the teacher’s absence. • Brings a calm, consistent, and enthusiastic presence to the classroom. • Can manage behaviour effectively and build rapport with students. • Holds an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one). • Is available full-time during school hours.
