Job Title: Teaching Assistant - BSL
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey?
Axcis Education are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a child in a reception class with Down syndrome. This full-time, long-term position requires someone with excellent communication skills, ideally qualified in British Sign Language (BSL), to join our vibrant and inclusive team as soon as possible.
About the Role:
Position: SEND Teaching Assistant with BSL
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term
School: Mainstream primary school located in Altrincham
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Key Requirement: Ability to communicate effectively using British Sign Language (BSL)
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: Proven track record working with children with special educational needs, particularly Down syndrome.
Qualifications: Ideally, BSL qualification or equivalent experience.
Skills: Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Commitment: A dedicated individual eager to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
You will provide tailored support to meet the child’s educational and personal needs, using BSL to enhance communication and engagement. Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will implement effective strategies, promote independence, and build the child’s confidence.
